Gill Verdon, also known as Guillaume Verdon-Akzam, is a Canadian physicist and entrepreneur best known as the founder and CEO of Extropic. He previously worked on quantum machine learning and helped develop TensorFlow Quantum in collaboration with Google and University of Waterloo researchers. At Extropic, he is building thermodynamic computing hardware and software aimed at making AI computation dramatically more energy efficient.
Verdon combines deep technical experience in quantum information, machine learning, and hardware-adjacent research with a clear thesis around energy-efficient AI infrastructure. That background closely matches Extropic’s focus on thermodynamic computing for large-scale probabilistic AI workloads.
