He founded Italic in 2018 after earlier co-founding Fountain, a Y Combinator-backed hiring platform for high-volume frontline work. A 2015 Thiel Fellow and Forbes 30 Under 30 Retail & Ecommerce honoree, Cai has built across retail, marketplaces, manufacturing, and commerce infrastructure.
